The number 7 has many lucky and unlucky connotations in cultures around the world. From a Microsoft point of view it has been a very lucky number. Released in 2009 it has now enjoyed 10 years of service during which most of the world's population has had experience using it.

The release of a new operating system is usually met by a mix of excitement and trepidation. Excitement from the parts of the community crying out for change and trepidation from users who like what they already have and worry what compatibility issues might be raised due to an upgrade. This has been the case from Windows NT, 98, XP, Vista etc and there can be a certain amount of hesitation to adopt a new OS until good reports have been heard from all business sectors.

In the end, of the five categories, three of them showcase the Devils as having bad luck last year, while the remaining two show them as being luck-neutral. Add those all together, and you can definitively state to anyone who wants to hear that the Devils were an unlucky team last season. Their PDO was 6th worst in the league, their STI was worst in the league by a long shot, and their post-regulation record was slightly unlucky. Their CHIP and record in one-goal games were neither lucky nor unlucky, but none provided the luck needed to balance out the unlucky nature of the other three stats.
